Micah Legal Aid

Micah Legal Aid (MLA) provides free legal advice and referrals to  clients seeking assistance.  We provide legal advice on site, and if further legal assistance is necessary, we refer clients to agencies who may be able to represent clients at little or no cost.  MLA also screens eligible clients for representation by the Legal Assistance Foundation’s Northwest Office.

MLA serves clients who are lower income individuals in the Logan Square and surrounding areas of Chicago.

MLA serves clients with needs in the area of family law, domestic violence, expungements, housing, employment, unemployment, public benefits, auto repossessions, school expulsions and truancy, and other related areas.

MLA does not handle criminal matters.  Spanish interpreters are available on site.

MLA is a partnership between New Community Covenant Church (NCCC), and the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago (LAFMC).  We are an organization of dedicated volunteer attorneys and legal professionals.

He has showed you, O man,
           what is good.
And what does the LORD
           require of you?
To act justly
           and to love mercy
           and to walk humbly
           with your God.
